Epic Quest Pinball Table for Pinball FX2 on Xbox Live Arcade
I have been a huge fan of Zen Studio’s Pinball FX2 game on Xbox Live Arcade for a long time now. I never seem to be disappointed with any of their new pinball tables either. This week, Epic Quest was released on Xbox Live Arcade in addition to Playstation Network, Apple App Store, and Android Marketplace.
Epic Quest is a unique blend of pinball action paired with the strategy of an RPG. When I first heard about this new approach to pinball I had some skepticism. However, this concept has worked out great and provides a seamless action and RPG pinball experience. I am not a great pinball “Wizard” like I wish I was but I instantly jumped in and had a blast!
It is the sworn duty of every knight to seek out evil, defeat it, and take its stuff. One such knight is Max, whose enthusiasm for combat is surpassed only by his love of rare and valuable loot. Join Max as he battles hordes of evil (or just evil-looking) monsters, rescues a wealthy princess, and accumulates the loot and XP that make good worth doing. If Max suffers a defeat, never fear! He will return in the next game with all of his hard-won loot and experience levels intact.
As for character development, we really took it to the next level by giving Max the Knight some serious personality and a sense humor that will strike a chord with those who enjoy comedic parody found in other properties such as Monty Python.
As to be expected, Epic Quest is highly detailed visually and great effort was put into the character and story development. Who would ever have thought that a pinball game would have character and story development?
Pros:
- It’s just fun!
- Table has a good feel to it.
- The RPG elements of the game let you upgrade Max’s armor and weapons.
- If the game ends, your experience and loot carry on to the next game!
- Visually stunning.
- Creative pinball table design.
- You will want to keep playing this one over and over.
Cons:
- No magical way to make me the best pinball player ever!
Final Verdict:
Honestly, I am not that great of a pinball player but I love to play them. This table is one of my most favorite from Zen Studios to date. At first I focused mostly on not losing the ball but then I started seeing all of the detail and fun things to do in the game. The humor is not my personal style but I know others that think it is hilarious (I know I am a weirdo).
If you like pinball games then you have to at least download the trial version on Xbox Live Marketplace.
